InfoAIcert Project

A Platform for conformity assessment of AI Systems with the EU Artificial Intelligence Act. It is an innovation project that aims to develop methods, tools and standards for the safe, transparent and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence.

Funded by FISA – 2023-00128 through which MUR supports industrial research and experimental development projects to promote socio-economic and industrial benefits.

Make your AI system

Competitive

Compliant

Certified

This project aims to create the first Italian platform for certifying high-risk AI systems in line with the European AI Act. Led by Tinexta Infocert and the University of Genova, it combines research and industry to deliver practical tools for assessing safety, robustness, and regulatory compliance.

InfoAIcert supports the development of transparent, reliable, and regulation-ready AI technologies empowering a more secure and ethical digital future.

Our challenge

How can we build intelligent systems that are reliable, safe, and aligned with human values?

How can we ensure that an AI system does what we are asking for, and not something that is dangerous or wrong?

As also reaffirmed by the social needs and by the international laws, it is becoming increasingly necessary to:

Prevent AI from making harmful decisions

Ensure it follows human rules

Prevent malicious or uncontrolled use

Reduce errors in critical contexts

The infoAIcert training journey

Exploring the meaning of Artificial Intelligence.
This video series provides an accessible introduction to Artificial Intelligence, exploring its evolution from the 1950s to the present day. It covers key topics including Trustworthy AI, the security of AI systems, how Large Language Models models such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini work, and the emerging regulatory landscape for AI.

Consortium

The project relies on the great experience and knowledge of its partners. Launched on 1 May 2025 and lasting five years, the project involves more than 75 researchers from the sAIfer Lab at the University of Genoa and Tinexta InfoCert, a European leader in digital trust services.

The Principal Investigator, Prof. Fabio Roli, is Full Professor of Computer Engineering at the University of Genova and University of Cagliari and Director of the sAIfer Lab. He is internationally recognized as a pioneer on Adversarial Machine Learning and AI security, with over 500 publications and more than 31,000 citations. He has been elected Fellow of IEEE, IAPR, and AAIA, and has received prestigious awards such as the Pierre Devijver Award and the Pattern Recognition Medal. Prof. Roli has coordinated numerous European and national projects and supervised large research teams. His experience in both academic excellence and technology transfer ensures strong scientific leadership and innovation capacity to the project.

Top level Publications

The research team involved in the InfoAIcert project boasts over 30 years of experience in AI security. Researchers at the sAIfer Lab - University of Genoa regularly publish in high-level scientific journals and are frequently invited as speakers at the most prestigious conferences on the security and reliability of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
